Calling all speedy sausages! Whether your pup is long, low, and lightning fast—or just adorable and enthusiastic—join us for one of Oktoberfest’s most beloved traditions: the Wiener Dog Races!

This crowd-pleasing, tail-wagging showdown is open to all Dachshunds and Dachshund-mix breeds. It’s a paws-itively perfect way to celebrate community, cuteness, and canine charm.

📝 Registration Info:

• Pre-registration Fee: $10

• Proceeds benefit Saline Main Street, a nonprofit dedicated to keeping downtown Saline vibrant and welcoming.

• Proof of current rabies vaccination is required  (acceptable documents include a vet-issued rabies certificate or dog license receipt). You can upload to the registration form below. 

  
  

🐶 Race Day Rules & Guidelines:

To keep the event safe and fun for everyone, please review the following:

• Two handlers per dog are required (one at the start, one at the finish line).

• All dogs must be leashed with a 6-foot or shorter leash when not racing.

• It is strongly recommended that dogs are current on all vaccinations and wearing an ID tag.

• Clean-up is your responsibility—bring bags and be a good neighbor.

• Dogs must be well-socialized and comfortable around other dogs and people.

• No dogs in heat will be allowed to race.

• Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

• Aggressive or unhealthy dogs will be asked to leave for the safety of others.

• No food (human or pet) or additional pets are allowed on the racetrack.

• You may bring a small toy (max 8 inches) to help motivate your racer!

📜 Waiver of Liability:

By entering the Wiener Dog Races, I acknowledge that participation may carry risks for both me and my dog. I confirm that we are medically and physically able to participate, and I assume full responsibility for any risks or incidents that may occur.

By registering, I hereby waive and release Saline Main Street, its Board of Directors, and the City of Saline from all claims or liabilities of any kind, including injury or death, arising from participation in this event. I agree that I, and any representatives on my behalf, will not hold the event organizers responsible.
