Often mistaken for Robert Plant, the lead singer of Tall Cool One sounds like him too! Come downtown to hear the classic sounds of Led Zeppelin performed by T.K. “Kinks” Heiss and his band, Tall Cool One.
From their website:
T.Kink Heiss, Lead vocals, percussion, harmonica. He has been in rock n roll bands since the age of 14. After buying a set of drums with money earned working for his father’s construction company at the age of 13. For the next 20 yrs he has worked with members of ; Ted Nugent’s band (Rick & Vern Wagoner) Savoy Brown (Nate Peterson) The Rationals (Scott Morgan) Ike & Tina Turner (Herb Sadler) Temptations (lead guitarist Corey Catalano) and many other well known musicians.
After working in other peoples bands for may years Kinks put his own classic rock band together Kinks and the Krew about 15 yrs ago. He was one of 3 lead singers taking turns on lead vocals and singing harmonies on the others. With his uncanny resemblance to Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin’s lead singer) people would stop him on the streets in Ann Arbor & Detroit area and would be asked if they could get a picture, some even believing he really was Robert Plant. Kinks decided to bring another drummer into the band and go up front and sing some Zeppelin songs for one of their sets. It was a huge hit and people would come to the shows just to see the Zeppelin set. About 4 yrs ago Kinks and the Krew disbanded and that is when the Robert Plant / Led Zeppelin Tribute Tall Cool One came together.
