About Saline Main Street
The Main Street Program is a worldwide program created to revitalize the core of our communities – our downtowns. Saline Main Street, a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization, was chosen as a ‘Select’ Main Street program by the Michigan Main Street Center in 2012. Since then we have seen significant investment in downtown, increased volunteerism, new physical improvements, and intensified community pride. Over $1, 300,000 has been invested financially, over 22,000 volunteer hours donated (the highest in all Michigan Main Street communities), and ten new businesses opened. And we’re just getting started! Now, five years later, we have been honored as a Master Level program and chosen as one of the three organizations in the State of Michigan to participate in the new, national, Main Street America Refresh program. Driven by a volunteer Board of directors, and supported by a full-time executive director and hundreds of volunteers serving as team members or individuals performing specific tasks, we are embarking on exciting, economically grounded “Transformational Strategies” in 2017!
About Our Teams
Learn how our four Teams work together toward our goals. Consider joining us on this exciting journey to make ‘Our Vision’ for downtown and our community become a reality.
Downtown Saline is the wider community’s focal point for entertainment, shopping, dining, services, and tourism, drawing people with its friendliness, beautiful historic buildings, events, variety of shops with unique offerings and ample parking. It is a destination where folks stroll the streets, shop, live, dine, worship, and are entertained; where storefronts are full, businesses are healthy and the sidewalks, streets and buildings are clean and attractive; where people feel safe, friends meet, families gather, and the community comes together to celebrate our heritage throughout the year. It is a place the community takes pride in, invests in and actively supports through a vibrant network of volunteers and community partnerships.
